    • water
    • oil - vegetable oil
    • sugar
    • salt
    • dry milk - this can be left out if you don't have it, but it does add a softness to the crust that I feel is wonderful.

Bread flour verses all purpose flour

All purpose flour can be used in this recipe if that is what you have. The taste will be fine and the dough delicious. However, bread flour will provide an extra lift to it as well as extra softness that cannot be matched. The extra protein in the bread flour will produce an more airy dough that is lighter.

    Don't have a bread machine?

This dough can be made in a stand mixer. Simply layer the ingredients like you would with the bread machine and using the kneading hook, mix and knead the dough for 10 minutes. Then the dough will need to rise until double in size. Depending on the warmth of your home, that could take 1-2 hours. I have done it this way, however, I prefer the bread machine. I can put the ingredients in the machine and walk away.

    Baking the dough

After the dough is done in the bread machine, it will be spread on a greased pizza pan then baked in a 425 degree oven for 5 minutes, without toppings on it. That will help the dough to bake before the toppings are on and give the dough a head start on cooking. The toppings will cook faster than the crust (example the cheese melting).

Then pull the pizza out and spread your favorite pizza toppings on top of the pizza crust. Bake for another 10-15 or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.

    Leftovers

Store leftovers wrapped in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

What are some side dishes to serve with pizza?

    • Cherry Cheesecake Fluff Salad
    • Grape Jello Salad
    • 4 Ingredient Pasta Salad
    • Italian Tortellini Salad

    FAQ

What toppings can I put on this pizza?

Any of your favorite toppings such as cheese, sauce, mushrooms, peppers, sausage, hamburger, ham, pineapple, etc...

How many crusts does this recipe make?

2 thin crusts or 1 deep dish or pan pizza.

Do I have to bake the crust first before putting on the toppings?

No you don't. We like to, we feel it helps bake the crust more evenly. It is up to you though.
