Hey there! Welcome to Baking With Mom! I am Kim Strawn the owner, writer and recipe developer of Baking With Mom.
I spend about 75% of my day in the kitchen. Between making meals for my family, cleaning up from the meals and cleaning all the sticky fingerprints off of the refrigerator, the kitchen has become an important room of the house! I make food for not only my family but large groups of people, sports teams and a lot of hungry teenagers. Trust me, they are food critics... so the food recipes need to be delicious!
Every busy woman needs recipes that can be whipped up in a hurry. Soccer, basketball, cross country all leave us busy with not much time to prepare meals.

A Little About Me
When I got married, I didn't know much about cooking and baking. However, I knew I wanted to learn! The more I was in the kitchen, the more I realized how much I love creating new recipes and serving food to those around me.
I am asked often to provide food for baby showers and wedding showers, team meals and bake sales. My recipes have been used for family dinners, large gatherings and parties. It is an honor to make and share recipes worthy of being used to serve others.
I am thankful for my thousands of followers on social media including Facebook, Pinterest, Tiktok (@thebakingwithmom) and Instagram (@thebakingwithmom).
Random Facts
- I have a Gecko key chain my friend gave me 28 years ago. His name is Eldon.
- I despise bananas.
- We used to live in a one room schoolhouse. Thankfully, it wasn't one room any more. Needless to say, we outgrew the home.
- Nuts do not belong in baked goods. Do not.
- We have three cats, Macy, Flower and Bo.
- I met my husband when I was 15. Our first date was Pizza Hut.
- I can break out into an 80's song at almost any moment. Ask my children.
- Of course, I don't think there is a Matt Maher song I do not like.
- My favorite season is fall.
- My favorite color is purple.
And lastly, I love to bake, make new recipes for my family and spend a lot of time in the kitchen creating simple recipes for you to share with your family. I strive to always provide quality recipes that you can serve your busy family.
