It's an easy appetizer, a great fall recipe surely to please your family and guests. Creamy caramel apple dip only has a handful of ingredients and can be served within 15 minutes.
Who doesn't love fall? This appetizer recipe is a great way to use up those apples you just picked at the apple orchard. The cream cheese, brown sugar and vanilla is topped with creamy caramel sauce, almonds and chocolate chips to make up this creamy caramel apple dip.
The recipe comes together quickly and it can be served immediately, no extra refrigeration required. It is also adaptable.
What are my topping choices?
Instead of the chocolate chips you can try adding toffee pieces. In place of the almonds, you could add chopped peanuts or no nuts at all. I think adding toppings on top of the caramel adds so much flavor and the little bit of crunch that a classic caramel apple has.
How do I store any caramel dip leftovers?
If you have any left, cover the plate or dish with clear plastic wrap and refrigerate. I recommend eating any leftovers within 24-36 hours.
Do I need a mixer for this recipe?
I would say yes. I think mixing cream cheese by hand can get a little tricky. Sometimes the cream cheese wants to leave little pieces that refuse to mix well. Using a mixer, whether a hand held or stand mixer, is very handy and helpful. Do always make sure the cream cheese is softened before starting the recipe. Try putting the cream cheese on the counter to soften for about 10 minutes before using.
When you do mix everything together, it is an all in the bowl kind of recipe (my favorite!). You put all ingredients in the bowl and mix. Then simply spread the mix on a plate or in a dish, add the caramel and toppings and there you go. You have a delicious and easy dip recipe.
