Easy Layered Taco Dip in a square pan

It is time for some football! Cooler weather and back to school signal the start of this popular sport. Our oldest loves to watch and play football with his friends. So of course, that means having groups of teenagers over for a touch football game.

Feeding that hungry crew is a challenge and I especially want to stay on budget. Recipes like Easy Layered Taco Dip paired with Dr Pepper® helps to get any football party started (and keeps the kids fed).

The key to feeding a large group of people is finding great deals and making recipes that feed a crowd. It is also important to have plenty of side dishes to compliment the main dish.

When I thought of the football party he wanted to have, I knew I could swing by Dollar General and pick up everything from plates to the food. They have a little of everything there and it is so convenient.

The main item I wanted to get at Dollar General was Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper has football packaging perfect for football season and I knew it would go great for our football gathering. It is the official drink of college football fans and has been part of college football for 25 years.

The Dr Pepper was in the soda aisle. I bought the 12 pack cans, but the 2 Liter soda bottles also had the football labeling.

I was also able to pick up almost everything I needed for the Easy Layered Taco Dip! Dollar General has plates, napkins, plastic silverware and a bowl for the chips. I was also pleased to find taco seasoning, cheese, sour cream, chips and beans there as well. Such convenient shopping for this busy mom! (It is especially handy when your child doesn't give you a lot of notice that his friends are coming over. We have all been there, right?) :-)

How To Make Easy Layered Taco Dip

Orange peppers and tomatoes and lettuce on cutting board

First chop up whatever vegetables you have already on hand. I had an orange pepper, lettuce and tomatoes so I thought I would add them to the dip.

Then warm the beans on the stove and fry up the hamburger. Then it is time to layer the ingredients in a greased 9 inch square dish.

Black Beans in a square pan

Layer the beans on the bottom of the pan. Then add the hamburger on top of the beans.

Sour Cream layered on black beans and hamburger

Spread on the sour cream evenly. Then add the lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and cheese. You can certainly change up the veggies to whatever you have on hand.

Dr Pepper cans, taco dip and chips

Yes, throwing a football party for your child doesn't have to be costly or hard. The Dr Pepper and Easy Layered Taco Dip was a perfect match. The rich, indulgent, one of a kind flavor of Dr Pepper compliments any recipe and any party!
