Talk about an easy side dish! This Sizzling Bacon Ranch Corn is full of corn, bacon and delicious ranch dip. It will be a great addition to your BBQ or gathering!
Sizzling Bacon Ranch Corn is a side dish loved by my family. I mean, I have a family that cringes at vegetables, faints at peppers and to try something new? Well, that is just wrong, right?
This corn recipe is great addition to any BBQ or picnic. It is also great at Potlucks. (Have children and need to face the potluck? Here are some tips: Potluck Tips For Children.)
Ingredients
- frozen corn - frozen, not thawed
- red pepper, diced
- Dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dip
- bacon - any brand
- lime juice (optional)
Ranch dip
To use the ranch dip, get the Dry Hidden Valley Ranch Dip packet.
You will only need about ½ packet of the dip mix, you can save the rest for Ranch Potatoes. If you would rather not add the ranch seasoning, you can season it differently using salt and garlic powder. Different taste of course, but it is an alternative.
How to make sizzling bacon ranch corn
It is a mix of flavors. I added Red Bell Pepper to the dish, though if you prefer orange or yellow, go ahead and use it. Bacon is a must and when you fry up the bacon, use a pan like this one. It is deep and you can add a lot of ingredients to the pan without overflow.
Drain off the grease, then add the corn. Only use frozen corn not canned corn. The corn will have a bite to it when you use frozen corn. My family doesn't like corn chewy so using frozen corn helps with that.
Add the peppers and ranch dip as well and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Easy and delicious side dish recipe perfect for a family meal or a large gathering!
