broccoli, olive oil and sea salt.

    Why sea salt?

Sea salt accents the flavor of the broccoli more and will give that bite of flavor mingled with the crispness of the broccoli. It will help draw out the moisture for a more crisp roasted vegetable. Regular salt can be used, but the sea salt is ideal.

    Roasting the broccoli

The broccoli only needs about 15 minutes to cook. It happens rather quickly, but it can go longer if you want a more cooked vegetable. For this recipe, the broiler can be used for about 4 minutes, if you choose to.

I used the broiler after roasting the broccoli in the oven. I wanted to give it a deeper bake and it did not disappoint.

    Fresh or frozen broccoli

This recipe has been tested with frozen broccoli and for ease of a simple side dish, I recommend it. Fresh broccoli will alter the time that it takes to cook.

    Roast

Roast the broccoli at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. If desired, broil for additional 5 minutes under a high temperature broiler. Be watchful to make sure the broccoli does not burn under the broiler.

    FAQ

Do I have to use the broiler after roasting the broccoli?

No, you don't! It is just an option for additional cooking.

    Can I use vegetable oil?

I don't recommend it. Vegetable oil can be heavy and olive oil is better for eating.

Can I sprinkle parmesan cheese on top while baking?

    Yes!

Enjoy this simple vegetable recipe! This broccoli is easy to make and would be a great addition to BBQ Meatballs, Venison Roast and to add to your Funeral Potatoes.
