    Ingredients

    • cheddar cheese
    • sausage - regular or mild sausage is best. I wouldn't recommend spicy for this
    • egg

    The sausage and the stuffing

The sausage needs to be fully cooked for this recipe. So fry up one pound of sausage until the sausage is fully cooked through and no longer pink.

After the sausage has cooked through, drain the grease from the sausage. The stuffing needs to made according to the package directions. So in the case of the box used in this recipe, water and butter was also needed.

After the sausage and stuffing is fried up and made, then simply mix everything together in a large bowl.

    Tip

A spoon works well to mix this, however, hands work great too!

    Scooping the mixture

The mixture needs to be formed in balls and placed on a lightly greased baking sheet. You can form the balls with your hands or use a cookie scoop.

    Bake

These stuffing balls will bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until lightly browned.

    Leftovers

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 48 hours in the refrigerator.

I have mine in the oven baking as I type this. The mixing was super easy, so that gets an A+! You didn’t really specify, that I saw, exactly how large to make these balls so I hope I didn’t make them too large.
I used Jimmy Dean Sage Sausage and Stove Top Savory Stuffing flavor. These are pretty tasty! I might just make a Double batch of these for this upcoming Thanksgiving! My Daughter hates to cook and she made the Dressing last year, (No Giblets Gravy), and frankly it didn’t taste that bad, but it sure could’ve benefited from some Gravy.

I made these and doubled the recipe because I wanted to make some with regular sausage and some with spicy sausage. Now I have extra….can you freeze these?

I have not put any in the freezer so I cannot speak on that. I would think they would be okay, but again, I haven't tried it. I think it is worth a try!

Yes you can! I did and they were fine. When ready to heat up again, bake in a pan, covered with just a slight amount of chicken broth on the bottom. Just enough to add a little moisture to them. Bake at 350 for about 15 minutes(ish) until they are warm.
