Soft And Chewy White Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft and moist and delicious right from the oven. Grab yourself a tall glass of milk or a cup of homemade hot chocolate and enjoy this cookie recipe with family and guests.
The air is going to be turning cooler soon so it will be time to fire up that oven again. If you are like me who enjoys baking, then the oven has been on a few times at least during the summer months.
I mean, sometimes the day just calls for a cookie, no matter what the temperature is outside, you know? Especially the Soft And Chewy White Chocolate Chip Cookies.
However, when fall is in the air, there is just something about baking that perfect dessert, wouldn't you agree?
These soft and chewy white chocolate chip cookies are just the treat to make when you are ready to start baking again. At our house, we like soft cookies. I mean, hardly done, extra soft and super chewy cookies much like these M&M Cookies or White Velvet Cookies.
If I were to bake cookies for the normal amount of time, nobody in my family would like them. The children have learned from their dad what qualifies as a good cookie.
Soft and chewy.
Ingredients
- margarine - I like to use Imperial margarine for this recipe. However butter can be used
- brown sugar - firmly packed
- sugar
- egg
- flour - all purpose flour, I used unbleached but bleached can be used
- baking soda
- salt
- white chocolate chips
The Process
Now, if you like your cookie a little crunchier, you can bake these cookies a tad longer in the oven. A crunchy cookie is great to dunk in milk or in a warm cup of hot chocolate.
Would you rather have Macadamia Nuts in them? You could always add them to this recipe.
To make this cookie recipe: simply mix sugars, softened butter and egg together in medium bowl. (Remember, my favorite bowl is no more. I still mourn the loss.)
Then mix in the dry ingredients. Stir well and put on cookie sheet (ungreased).
Then bake and serve. Delicious and easy!
FAQ
Yes you can! You can even put in M&M's if you want.
Yes, you do. Too little or too much of the brown sugar will drastically result in cookies that don't turn out right. Be sure to measure the brown sugar carefully.
I would cook them for 12-15 minutes and go from there.
Good question! I found that one of the secrets to these cookies is 365 degrees is the perfect. 375 degrees is too high and 350 degrees is too low.
I personally think this cookie recipe is the best for soft and chewy cookies and I urge you to try it. You will probably never use another cookie recipe again.

Notes
- I prefer to use margarine for this recipe and feel the cookies come out better with it. This recipe was tested with Imperial margarine and it is the only one I use for these cookies and have not found another one that works as well.

So delicious! My 8 yr old and 4 yr old helped to mix and roll the balls and had a lot of fun! I only had about half a cup of white choc chips to use so I halved the recipe....The result was soooo yummy! Definately going to make the full recipe next time cos 9 cookies did not last long!
Highly recommend!

I love the simplicity of this recipe but these did not set up or come off the pan very well for me. Oklahoma humidity/weird barometric pressure, maybe?
Kim
My son goes to school at the University of Oklahoma. He told me he wanted to make these cookies in his apartment... I should have him do it and see how they turn out.
To troubleshoot, be sure to use exact measurements, especially with the brown sugar and flour. With these cookies, a little off and they can become quite flat. Also, if you aren't using nonstick pans, put down parchment paper on the cookie sheet and see if that helps. If you try it again, let me know!

Horrible I made these for fun using the exact recipe, ingredients and measurements for these and they turned out feeling like sand and tasting like sand I will never use again found a better recipe that turned out way better. I was also wondering what I did wrong with these. Thank you.
Kim
I'm sorry they didn't turn out well for you! I stand behind all of my recipes, of course, but this cookie recipe is one that I personally make at least twice a week. It is requested by teachers, for bake sales, youth group activities, fundraisers and when I make them for my kid's friends, there are literally none left. It's a great recipe. As far as what happened to your batch, I'm not sure but I encourage you to give it another try and read through the tips in the post. See if that helps.

i had been looking for a really great white chocolate/macadamia nut cookie recipe for my daughter and her boyfriend (they both love white chocolate) and tried Kim's. Tried a different recipe over Christmas 2020, wasn't thrilled with it, and now his birthday is soon, so i thought i would give a different recipe a try. Kim's recipe is exactly what i was hoping for; easy, wonderful flavor, baked off very nicely. i did some with nuts, some without...great both ways. i baked the trial batch a bit longer (maybe 2 min.) for a crisper cookie (what my husband likes) and he loved them too. Thank you Kim!! It's perfect!!

I'm so glad! This cookie recipe is a favorite of ours and we make it often!

Is 365 degrees the right temperature my over doesn’t have that setting
Kim
Yes it is. In the post I explain why I use 365* for these cookies. If your oven doesn't have that temperature, use 375*. I hope that helps! enjoy! :-)

Way too sweet for our family. Would they form if I add half the sugar?
Kim
Probably not. This cookie recipe needs to be followed for the cookies to turn out. You could certainly try!
Lindsay
We used half the sugar (3/4 cup) and they turned out great for us! So good that I have yet to make it the right way yet and I have made it 3 times. I’m out of eggs so today I will try a sub as well :)
Kim
I have never tried to cut the sugar in half. I may have to try it. Let me know if the sub for eggs work!

Hi! Question, do you use a hand held mixer to mix the wet ingredients? Or do you just use a spoon?
Kim
I just use a spoon. Hope that helps!
