It is important to choose the right kind of apple for your apple breads and desserts. A softer apple is better for homemade applesauce. A firmer apple is better for pies and baked apples. A firmer apple will hold up better while baking.

This fall apple bread recipe is best with a granny smith or I used a pink lady apple. Pink Lady Apples hold up well while baking and are also a little more tart. They will balance out the sweetness of the bread well.
This bread recipe can have as many apples as you would like. As you can see, I didn't add a lot of apples for a reason. One reason is because my husband doesn't like a lot of apples in his bread. If you want an apple laced bread, feel free to add another cup (or two!). It is delicious either way.

Bake this bread at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until a toothpick or knife comes out clean.

Homemade Apple Bread

Ingredients
- 1 egg
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk or almond milk
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ½ cups apple washed, peeled and chopped
For The Topping
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 3 T butter melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375℉ and grease a 9 inch loaf pan.
- Mix the egg and sugar together in a large bowl.
- Stir in the milk, oil and vanilla.
- Stir in 3 cups of flour, salt and baking powder.
- Fold in the apples. Spread the batter evenly in a greased loaf pan.
- Mix the topping ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Spread over the apple batter.
- Bake at a 375℉ oven for 45 minutes until the bread tests done with a toothpick or butter knife.
- Remove from oven and let cool on a cooling rack in the pan for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully remove from the pan using a knife to loosen the edges and turn onto a cooling rack.
- Let cool completely then slice and serve.
