Soft and gooey and ready to eat chocolate cookies!

Christmas is a'coming and the cookie trays need to be filled. And I have a recipe for you!

These Soft and Gooey Chocolate Cookies start with a cake mix. Add a little cream cheese. Add a little butter.

You end up with easy to make, simply delicious gooey chocolate cookies.

5 ingredients and you have delicious. What is not to love?? Especially when it involves powdered sugar and chocolate. Right?!?!

Enjoy these cookies with a glass of milk.

When you add these to your Christmas tray for your child's teacher or your neighbor, you can also add the Gooey Strawberry Cookie or the Caramel Shortbread Cookie.

So many cookies to choose from this Christmas season. So many to sample, ya know?

    Ingredients

    • chocolate cake mix
    • cream cheese
    • butter (or margarine)
    • vanilla
    • egg
    • powdered sugar

Only 5 ingredients that mix together easily then the powdered sugar on top.

    Instructions

When you make these cookies, I highly suggest using a hand mixer or Kitchen Aid mixer.  You don't have to, of course, a good old wooden spoon works well too, but the batter is rather thick so to mix these soft and gooey chocolate cookies can be a little on the hard side. Might as well let your mixers do the work for you.

Also, be sure to soften the cream cheese and butter. It will make for easier mixing. And less chunks. And nobody wants chunks. Simply put the cream cheese and butter on the counter for about 15 minutes. That should do the trick.

    Butter or margarine

You can use regular butter or margarine in these cookies. Margarine works just fine and you can't tell if you don't use regular butter, if you want to save money.

Imperial margarine: $.89 Aldi. Butter: $2.59. Butter: better for you. Margarine: not so much. Take your pick.

    Bake

After you mix up the cookies, roll the dough into balls and roll them in powdered sugar. Place them on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes or so in a 350* oven. These do not take long to cook.

Remove from oven, place on cookie rack and let cool. Then enjoy with a glass of milk. Er, Almond Milk in my case.
