    Need a snack for Christmas or New Year's Eve? This Crock Pot Snack Mix does it's blending of flavors in the crock pot so it is easy to put together and you let the crock pot do the baking! The blend of pretzels, cheese crackers, peanuts and of course Chex cereal topped with a tasty dressing is just what your gathering needs.

    When party planning is in your future, the top of the list is delicious snacks and appetizers for your guests. Sometimes, however, time is short and oven space is limited. That is where this Crock Pot Snack Mix comes into play. The blend of ranch flavors compliment the crunch of the crackers and Chex cereal. Salty peanuts just add to the flavors.

    This snack mix only takes minutes to put together then cooks in a crock pot for about 2 hours. It really doesn't get much easier to make. Most importantly, it is so delicious.

    Ingredients

    • Chex cereal - rice or corn
    • cheese crackers
    • peanuts - salted
    • pretzels - any shape
    • Worcestershire sauce
    • ranch dressing mix - the dry packet of ranch mix
    • butter - real butter, salted or unsalted
    • garlic powder

    Tip!

    When cooking the mix in the crock pot, be sure to place a towel over the top of the crock pot, then put the lid on. The crock pot will produce moisture and you don't want soggy crackers. The towel will help to prevent that.

    Making the crock pot snack mix

    The snack mix is easy to put together in that the Chex cereal, crackers, peanuts and pretzels just go right into the crock pot.

    The other ingredients need to be mix together in a bowl first, but then just poured on the cracker mixture.

    Bake

    Set the crock pot on low and bake for 2 hours. After baking, the mix will need to be place on waxed paper to cool.

    Storage

    The snack mix can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. It can also be kept in the freezer for up to 3 months.

    Equipment

    • 1 crock pot
    • 1 mixing bowl

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup cheese crackers
    • 1 cup peanuts salted
    • ½ cup pretzels
    • 12 oz Chex cereal corn or rice
    • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 pkg ranch dip mix the dry mix
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ cup butter salted or unsalted, melted

    Instructions

    • Place crackers, pretzels, peanuts, cereal in a large crock pot.
    • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, ranch dip, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
    • Pour the butter sauce over the mixture in the crock pot and stir until mixture is coated.
    • Place a towel over the top of the crock pot then place the lid on top of that. That will help moisture from making the crackers soggy. Heat on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    • Spread on waxed paper to let cool completely.
