What a fun twist to the classic monkey bread recipe! Apple Monkey Bread is cinnamon in every bite, with apple pieces throughout. The kids will love it, the guests will love it and everyone will be asking for the recipe!

We love breakfast and brunch recipes around here, especially involving bread. Recipes like Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, Apple Cinnamon Rolls and Apple Coffee Cake. Apple Cinnamon Pancakes are pretty great too. (Can you also tell we love all things apple??)

    Ingredients

    • Grand Biscuits
    • cinnamon
    • apples - Cortland is a good choice, or Honeycrisp
    • brown sugar
    • butter - margarine can be used
    • sugar
    • white chocolate chips - optional, but it adds such flavor

    Using a bundt pan

Using a Bundt pan for this recipe is really the best option as it not only has a great shape as you turn out the monkey bread, but it also holds the bread together. It also prevents leaking. If you only have an angel food pan to use, you can, but it can leak the butter and sugar out creating a huge mess in your oven. Be sure to put a pan under the angel food pan to catch any leaks. But again, the Bundt pan is highly recommended.

    Choosing what apples to use

You will want a good apple that holds its shape in cooking. If you use an applesauce apple, it can turn to mush on you then it won't have that bite to it. I have a guide referring to the best apples to use for eating and baking. It is quite helpful!

    Putting the monkey bread together

The apple monkey bread comes together so easily. The biscuits will be cut into fourths. I do recommend the Grand Biscuits as they are more flaky and, well, grand.

The cut biscuits will be rolled in the cinnamon sugar mixture along with the apple pieces and placed in the greased pan. The butter and brown sugar will be melted and poured over the top. Easy and delicious!

    Tip

Be sure to turn the bread out from the pan quickly after baking. If you wait too long, the bread will stick to the pan. I always turn my monkey bread out within 3 minutes of taking it out of the oven.

    • 1 mixing bowl

    Ingredients

    • 16 Biscuits Grand Biscuits
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • ¾ cup butter or margarine
    • 1 cup brown sugar packed
    • 1 cup apple peeled, chopped
    • ½ cup white chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350℉. Spray Bundt pan with cooking spray.
    • Pour white sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and mix well.
    • Cut up each biscuit into 4 pieces. Roll the biscuit pieces into the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated.
    • I like using kitchen shears to cut up the biscuits.
    • Coat the apple pieces in the cinnamon sugar mixture as well.
    • Place biscuits and apples in the greased pan. Sprinkle the white chocolate chips on top.
    • In a microwave safe dish, melt the butter and brown sugar for about 30 seconds or until melted.
    • You may want to cover with a paper towel so it won't splatter!
    • Pour evenly over the top of the biscuits.
    • Bake at 350℉ for 35-40 minutes or until biscuits are firm and top is golden brown.
    • Remove from oven. Using a large plate, place plate on top of the pan and and carefully flip the plate over. Remove the pan.
    • Serve immediately or within a couple of hours.
