    I absolutely love an egg casserole. It combines all of the breakfast favorites in a pan and the flavors blend so well together. It is an all in one breakfast! This Cheesy Egg Bake has all the favorites of eggs, cheese and sausage. It is just simply so good.

    Ingredients

    • eggs
    • biscuit mix - like Bisquick
    • sour cream
    • salt/pepper
    • garlic salt
    • dried onions
    • milk - can use almond milk
    • butter - margarine can be used
    • shredded cheese - can use Colby Jack

    Mixing it in

    This breakfast recipe is so quick to put together. However, the sausage needs to be cooked before adding it to the egg bake, but the sausage can be made ahead of time. If you make the sausage the night before, then all you have to do is mix the ingredients together the morning of so the prep work is done!

    Ingredients to add to this bake

    • cottage cheese can be used in place of the sour cream
    • regular milk or almond milk can be used
    • if you prefer, bacon in place of the sausage - be sure the bacon is cooked before adding it to the egg bake
    • chopped onion can be used in place of the dried onions

    Yes! Use gluten free baking mix in place of the regular baking mix.

    Place any cheesy egg bake leftovers in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.

    Equipment

    • 1 9x13 baking pan
    • 1 mixing bowl

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground sausage mild or medium
    • 6 eggs
    • 1 cup baking mix like Bisquick
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 teaspoon dried onions
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • ¼ cup butter or margarine

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 350℉.
    • Cook ground sausage until no longer pink, drain.
    • In a 9x13 baking dish, place butter on the bottom of the pan and melt in the oven. Remove pan from oven when butter is melted.
    • Meanwhile, whisk in a large mixing bowl, 6 eggs.
    • Whisk in baking mix, sour cream, cheese, salt, pepper, dried onions, milk with the eggs. Stir in the sausage.
    • Add the egg mixture to the baking pan with the butter.
    • Bake at 350℉ for 40 minutes or until the top is firm and tests done with a toothpick.
    • Serve.
