Soft And Chewy White Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft and moist and delicious right from the oven. Grab yourself a tall glass of milk or a cup of homemade hot chocolate and enjoy this cookie recipe with family and guests.

Sometimes the day just calls for a cookie, no matter what the temperature is outside, you know? Especially the Soft And Chewy White Chocolate Chip Cookies. However, when fall is in the air, there is just something about baking that perfect dessert, wouldn't you agree?

These white chocolate chip cookies are just the treat to make when you are ready to start baking again. At our house, we like soft cookies. I mean, extra soft and super chewy cookies much like these Gooey Strawberry Cookies or White Velvet Cookies. The flavor in these cookies are perfect, the chewiness, excellent.

    Ingredients

    • margarine - I like to use Imperial margarine for this recipe. However butter can be used.
    • brown sugar - firmly packed
    • sugar
    • egg
    • flour - all purpose flour, I used unbleached but bleached can be used.
    • baking soda
    • salt
    • white chocolate chips

    The Process

Now, if you like your cookie a little crunchier, you can bake these cookies a tad longer in the oven. A crunchy cookie is great to dunk in milk or in a warm cup of hot chocolate. Would you rather have Macadamia Nuts in them? You could always add them to this recipe.

Brown sugar, white sugar in mixing bowl for cookie dough

To make this cookie recipe: simply mix sugars, softened butter and egg together in medium bowl.

    cookie dough mixture.

Then mix in the dry ingredients. Stir well and put on cookie sheet (ungreased).

Then bake and serve. Delicious and easy!

    FAQ

Can I replace the white chocolate chips with milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips?

Yes you can! You can even put in M&M's if you want.

It calls for a lot of sugar, do I need all the sugar?

Yes, you do. Too little or too much of the brown sugar will drastically result in cookies that don't turn out right. Be sure to measure the brown sugar carefully.

We like our cookies a little crisper. How long should I cook them for?

I would cook them for 12-15 minutes and go from there.

    Wait! 365 degrees? Why?

Good question! I found that one of the secrets to these cookies is 365 degrees is the perfect. 375 degrees is too high and 350 degrees is too low. If you prefer, 350 degrees would be the way to go.

I personally think this cookie recipe is the best for soft and chewy cookies and I urge you to try it. You will probably never use another cookie recipe again.

    Equipment

    • 2 cookie sheets
    • 1 mixing bowl
    • 1 cookie scoop
    • 2 cooling racks

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup margarine (softened)
    • ¾ cup sugar
    • ¾ cup brown sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 2 ¼ cup all purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1-1 ½ cups white chocolate chips

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 365°.
    • Cream together butter, sugars and egg in a large bowl.
    • Stir in flour, baking soda and salt.
    • Fold in white chocolate chips.
    • Roll into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
    • Bake at 365* for 9 minutes or until done.
    • Remove from cookie sheet and place on a cooling rack. Serve after cooling.

    Notes

    1. I prefer to use margarine for this recipe and feel the cookies come out better with it. This recipe was tested with Imperial margarine and it is the only one I use for these cookies and have not found another one that works as well.
    2. Please see my FAQ in the post above the recipe card for other tips and questions answered.
    3. If you would like to set the temperature to something other than 365 degrees, 350 would be the one to choose. I think 365 degrees is perfect, however.

Great cookies but the recipe does not specify if it is 365 fan-force or no fan? Also I can't help but be annoyed you don't feel the need to include the temperature in Celsius as well.

I'm glad you enjoyed the cookies! I have made those cookies so many times, I can't count how many times. As far as the Celsius is concerned, I have been doing this for about 12 years and you are the first one to request that. I will certainly take that into consideration.

I need to clarify my 4 stars. Taste of s 5 stars. Ease of making 5 stars. I was not impressed by how thin the cookies were. I had the one inch balls. I had oven on 365. I used wax paper and no grease. The cookies were just too thin. I'm an appearance guy. You eat with your eyes first. I just didn't care for the appearance.

I'll take an honest review any day! Thank you for your response! Let me suggest making sure the butter wasn't too soft. You don't want melted butter. Also, try using Imperial margarine if you are using margarine instead of real butter. Also, make sure the brown sugar is measured exactly. I actually make these cookies all the time for cross country teams and for church and they are very rarely too thin. I hope you will give them another try!

I’m in LOVE with these cookies!!! I don’t know what happened but this time they were kind of flat! Last time they were thick and fluffy! They tasted the same luckily! It was rainy and overcast today. Will weather affect the outcome. Or perhaps I oversized the first part…the butter and sugar and eggs I know I was careful not to over mix the flour part! Oh well!

I'm so glad you enjoy them! I just made dozens upon dozens for a lot of cross country runners!! :-) Yes, weather can certainly play a part in how baking turns out. Also, I would take note on how soft your butter is. You don't want the butter to be melted, but softened. Also, make sure the brown sugar is measured accurately and is packed. I hope that helps!

I have never tried that and my first thought that it would make the batter too wet. It sounds good though! All you can do is try... it may work, it may not!
