A fun fall food board with fun fall favorites.

This Fall Charcuterie Board will be a great addition for any gathering. A charcuterie board is great anytime. A plateful of favorites so your guests have choices. Everyone loves choices.

    What is a charcuterie board?

A charcuterie board is typically a combinations of cheeses and meats on a board. It is a great centerpiece for your Holiday gathering or a simple BBQ.

Charcuterie boards have changed a lot over the years and now the board can have desserts, breakfast, fruits or a combination of it all!

    Ingredients

    • frosted pretzels
    • maple cookies
    • Reeses pieces
    • M&M's
    • caramel
    • apples
    • pears
    • pretzels
    • candy corn

One of the best parts of making a board, is it can be completely up to you what you want on it. This fall food board can follow mine exactly or you can adjust to your own liking.

    Assembling the charcuterie board

The same thought applies as above. Remember: you can't do it wrong.

I advise you to start with the dips or bowls, then build around that. I had the caramel, M&M's, candy corn and Reeses pieces in bowls. The rest then get placed around the bowls.

It is best to get alike items together, in groups. I did, but then scattered the popcorn around to fill in some gaps.

Maple cookies add such a festive fall flavor.

Also, it is best to start with the larger food, in case the cookies. You can see then how much room they take up and then place the rest.

    The pretzels

    Start adding in the ingredients.

I used gluten free pretzels (the flat pretzels) and fall covered pretzels. If you can't find fall pretzels, you can certainly make your own or go buy another kind. I chose the gluten free pretzels so there will be more options for those who are gluten free. And honestly, the flat pretzels look good on this tray!

    The caramel and dips

I used store bought caramel for this board. If you want to make a homemade caramel recipe, and to be honest, the homemade is so much better, I have a homemade caramel recipe.

Other dips that would be good for this board, would be Snickers Cookie Dough Dip or Creamy Caramel Apple Dip.

    Fruit additions

apples and pears with candy and pretzels on a board.
Add the fruit right before serving.

Always add the fruit right before serving if it is apples, pears or bananas, something that will turn brown after slicing. You can always add fruit fresh to the fruit, if you want to cut the fruit ahead of time.

Pears and apples are such great fall fruits that are a perfect addition to this board.

    Alternatives

If you want other ideas, grapes and peaches would add nice color to this board. Chocolate bars and graham crackers would be a welcome addition. Pumpkin dip would be delicious as well!
