    A classic shake recipe anyone can enjoy! A Dairy Free Strawberry Shake is creamy and flavorful and it is a great addition to your summertime fun. Only 3 ingredients and it is as easy as can be!

    Everyone wants a creamy sweet shake to enjoy once or twice (or more!) during the summer. This Dairy Free Strawberry Shake is so sweet and easy to make. The best part, it can be made with fresh strawberries so when strawberries are in season, this strawberry shake will be your go-to!

    Ingredients

    • dairy free vanilla ice cream - Breyer's is best for this
    • strawberries - fresh
    • almond milk - vanilla flavored

    What ice cream to buy?

    The best dairy free vanilla ice cream, in our opinion, is Breyer's brand. It is creamy and flavorful. It also blends well when put in a blender. Sometimes dairy free ice cream is thick and has a texture that doesn't blend well. It also sometimes is hard to dish out. Breyer's texture is almost identical to the regular ice cream. Fun Fact: our children will eat the dairy free ice cream without a complaint because it tastes so much like "real" ice cream.

    Blender or Magic Bullet

    So, the blender and Magic Bullet both have a purpose in this recipe. The milkshake is made in the blender, but I used the Magic Bullet for blending the strawberries. The blender can be used for the strawberries, but I wanted to use the bullet, I feel it blends the strawberries well. If you only have a blender, that will work too!

    Tip

    Using vanilla almond milk adds a little extra vanilla flavor to the strawberry shake. However, regular unflavored almond milk works well too.

    FAQ

    Can I add sugar to the strawberries?

    You can, but the sweetness of the strawberries combined with the ice cream is usually the perfect amount of sweet.

    Can I add whipped cream to the top?

    Absolutely! That would be delicious!

    Can I make a dairy free vanilla shake with this recipe?

    Yes! Just leave out the strawberries.

    Equipment

    • 1 blender or Magic Bullet

    Ingredients

    • 1 ½ cups dairy free vanilla ice cream
    • 7 strawberries washed, stems removed
    • ¾ cup almond milk vanilla

    Instructions

    • Blend the strawberries in the blender or in a Magic Bullet until completely pureed.
    • Add the ice cream to a blender.
    • Pour in the pureed strawberries to the ice cream and pour in the almond milk.
    • Blend well until the mixture is thick and creamy.
    • Serve immediately.
