Bowl of punch with cranberries and orange slices floating on top.

Christmas is such a special time of year and whether you have a small gathering or a large party, good Christmas recipes are a must. This Christmas punch is just that: a good drink recipe.

From gooey cookies to a Holiday staple like creamy potatoes, it is fun to plan your Christmas meals. Especially when the recipes are simple and you can put a few together in a short amount of time.

    Ingredients

The ingredient list for this drink recipe is really simple.

Simple, delicious recipes full of flavor.
    • Apple Cider
    • Orange Juice - pulp free is what I use, however it is personal preference
    • Cranberry Juice
    • Ginger Ale - any brand
    • Orange slices and cranberries - for garnish

There are four main ingredients in this punch. I am going to give you the amount I used and can be used for this recipe. With this type of recipe, you are free to adjust accordingly, per your tastes.

    Making the Christmas punch

To make this punch, you just add all ingredients together in a large punch bowl or gallon sized pitcher and stir. You can then add the orange slices and cranberries to help with flavor but be sure to save some back for garnish when you serve the punch.

    FAQ and Tips

    Can I use apple juice?

You can, but I strongly recommend apple cider. It has a stronger apple taste which helps the flavor of the punch. If you can't find the apple cider, apple juice will work.

How long does the punch take to chill?

I would make this punch 1 hour ahead of time so the flavors have a chance to blend together and to chill completely. Most of these ingredients will have been in the fridge already, but you want to make sure the punch is completely cold before serving, for flavor reasons.

    Can I substitute ingredients?

Well, you could, but the flavor will be different. If you want to change the ginger ale for 7 Up, that may work, but other than that, I would stick to the original recipe. But you can change quantities, meaning add another ½ cup here or ½ there.

    Are cranberries necessary?

No, but they offer some great color to the punch. I also feel they add a little sour to the sweetness of this punch.
