    Ingredients

    • instant tea - I used a mix that had peach flavor in it, plain is fine
    • sugar
    • orange flavored drink mix - Tang is what I used
    • lemonade mix - I used Country Time
    • cinnamon
    • cloves
tea ingredients of tea, cinnamon, sugar, Tang and lemonade.

    Simple drink recipe

To put this together, could not be any easier. In fact, it will take you just minutes to make. When it comes to heating up the water for the actual Russian Tea, that will take the longest. Easy recipes are the name of the game!

Dry Russian Tea in a mixing bowl.

The mixing of the ingredients starts in a large mixing bowl, then it is mixed together. Pretty simple, huh? The mix is then put in an airtight container for storage and it will last you a long time.

    How much mix to use

This part really depends on you. 3 Tablespoons are a starting point but 4 can be used in 12 oz of water.

    FAQ

Can I use cold water instead of warm?

Well, yes you can. However, I prefer to drink this with warm water. If it is summertime and you want to give this a try on a hot day, then cold water it is!

Is it instant tea that I use?

Yes, instant tea like Lipton can be used. I used the instant tea packets meant for individual water bottles. It was sugar free and had a peach flavoring in it.

    Can I double this recipe?

Yes! This recipe is great to put in glass jars or bags for teachers gifts for Christmas.

    Dorm care package

When your child goes off to college, your student really appreciates a care package. This drink mix is perfect to send off to them. It is a taste of home. Most dorm rooms have microwaves so they can warm the water up there. So delicious!
