These delicious breaded ravioli are baked and not fried so they are healthier than the restaurant version. Just as tasty and flavorful, you will enjoy this appetizer and want it often!

I feel rather foolish for not thinking of these sooner in my life. When we go to restaurants, I like to order the breaded ravioli (also known as toasted ravioli) on occasion.  It is something I have always enjoyed and it is a special treat. They aren’t that healthy since they are fried so I wouldn’t get them often.

Well, not Baking With Mom’s version of breaded ravioli.  (Are you glad you follow this blog? Good ideas happen here.)

🙂

This recipe is surprisingly simple and wonderfully healthy. It is two to three extra ingredients other than the ravioli and it only takes about 15 minutes or so to bake. Easy, easy peasy.

The breaded ravioli would be great to make when you are serving guests or just having a meal with the family. We were having spaghetti one night because of Ryan’s cross country meet the next day.  He wanted to bulk up on pasta. {Must have worked, he did his best ever at the meet!} I had a bag of ravioli in the freezer so I thought I would try making the breaded ravioli.

I should probably point out, that thanks to my family’s schedule that night, we ate in shifts. I made the spaghetti and ravioli for four of us (the early shift) then ran to get Ryan from practice. When he got home, my husband got home and I made them another batch of spaghetti and breaded ravioli. I know what you are thinking:

:: What a nice wife/mom

:: The breaded ravioli must be simple to make

breaded ravioli

You would be right on both accounts. 😉

What can I say, super simple and impressive for all. Did my family like them? Yes. #Feedthefam with this tonight.

Tips:

:: Put the unbaked ravioli on parchment paper to bake. You can also use a baking mat.

:: You can use egg white wash to coat the ravioli before the breadcrumb layer. I think water worked just fine.

:: Eat warm. They taste okay after cooling for a while, but they are best warm. Of course, let them cool for about 5 minutes before eating.
