How to put together Red White and Blue Fruit Salad

Well, it isn't a tough recipe at all. In fact, the longest part will be washing the fruit and chopping it. That is all.

Each fruit will be put in a bowl and mixed together. Then, like that, you will have a colorful fruit salad!

    Adding fruit fresh

    fruit fresh bottle.

If you don't want your apples to turn brown if this salad will be at a picnic or not eaten for a while, you may want to coat the apples with Fruit Fresh. I use it when I freeze apples in the fall and it works well. Apples could also be dipped in lemon juice or a lemon lime soda like sprite.

Fruit fresh can be a bit tart, so be sure to sprinkle just a little, according to the package directions.

    Is a sweetener needed?

If the fruit is fresh, it won't be necessary to add a sweetener like sugar. However, if desired, you could add a bit of sugar or for another option, honey.

    Alternatives

    • Raspberries can be used instead of strawberries
    • Pears could be used in place of apples
    • Concord grapes in place of the blueberries

    Leftovers
