Who doesn't love "Whoville" and the Grinch?? This Grinch Punch Recipe will be a hit for Grinch fans of all ages. Only 4 ingredients and super easy to make, a nonalcoholic Christmas drink recipe made with lime sherbet and pineapple juice. Delicious!

two glasses of grinch punch with red and white decorations.

Every Christmas growing up, my family would watch the cartoon version of the Grinch That Stole Christmas (and Charlie Brown Christmas). It was a big event in our house.

Fast forward to my own children and if we see the Grinch is on TV, there is yelling throughout the house "The Grinch is on, the Grinch is on!".

So what is more appropriate then making a Grinch Punch Recipe to celebrate one of the best Christmas shows around, along with the writer, Dr. Seuss? There really isn't anything.

This simple Christmas punch recipe only has 4 ingredients and you simply pour the ingredients in and serve. It doesn't get much easier. And it is fun to drink!

    Ingredients

    • Green Hawaiian Punch (Green Berry Rush)
    • Pineapple juice
    • Lime sherbet
    • Sprite
    • Red Sanding Sugar (optional)

What is the sanding sugar for?

The sanding sugar is fun! It is completely optional as, honestly, you will probably have kids with red lips running around your home. However, if you don't mind that, you can take the glass, rub a little water along the rim of the glass, then dip the glass into a bowl of the red sanding sugar.

It adds a pop of red to the drink. It also adds to the effect of the Grinch's red Santa hat. Cute, huh?

    Variations

red rimmed glass with punch and a punch bowl.
Red sanding sugar is a fun addition to the rim of this punch glass.

You can do different variations of this punch recipe. I used lime sherbet however, you can use vanilla ice cream. Both work great, the lime sherbet in this Grinch punch recipe adds an extra lime flavor that goes well with the drink.

If you can't find the green Hawaiian punch, you can also use several packets of green (lime) Kool-Aid. Mix the Kool-Aid according to package directions.

Sprite is used but 7-Up can be used instead. Again, Sprite was a preference of mine.

    Punch bowl verses pitcher

If you don't have a punch bowl, you can certainly pour everything into a pitcher.

The punch bowl would be impressive for parties or Christmas gatherings but not necessary.

It is the same with this Christmas Punch.

    Tips

This recipe will be for the amount my punch bowl holds. As punch bowls vary, the rule of thumb for this punch is fill the punch bowl half way with the green Hawaiian punch.

Next, put in the pineapple juice (this amount stays the same regardless of punch bowl size).

The Sprite will fill the punch bowl, leaving about 2 inches from the top of the punch bowl.

Add the lime sherbet to the punch last, right before serving.

The sherbet is added last, right before serving. Give the punch a stir and you are ready to serve!

    Adding more sherbet

The punch, throughout the party or gathering, may need more sherbet added to it. That, of course, is optional, but if you want to add a few more scoops of sherbet throughout the evening to keep the look going, go for it!

    Pin for later!
