    Ingredients

    • red apples - I like to use Gala or Honeycrisp
    • green apples - Granny Smith
    • Cool Whip - I prefer Cool Whip over whipping cream in this case
    • Snickers Bars

    Chilling time

The biggest thing with this Snickers salad is the chilling time it will need in the refrigerator. Now, you can eat this salad right away, but I recommend letting the flavors blend and the ingredients set up for at least an hour after making it.

This salad will also need to be returned to the refrigerator after serving. Make sure it doesn't sit in the hot sun as well at a picnic.

Mixing up the Snickers apple salad

Snickers and apples in a clear bowl.

Cut the apples and Snickers bars into bite sized pieces. Then, fold it into the Cool Whip. That is it!

    Substitutions

The Snickers bars are perfect because they have nuts and caramel inside. However, if you have someone with a peanut allergy, a Milky Way can be used. Now that I think of it, I have never tried it, but wouldn't a Twix bar be fabulous with this??

Feel free to add more apples if desired or Snickers bars. The more the merrier, right?

    Types of apples to use

I like using Granny Smith and Gala. Other options are Honeycrisp or Pink Lady. I recommend keeping the Granny Smith for a little bit of tart among the sweet.

    Leftovers

Take any leftovers you may have and refrigerate it in an airtight container. They are good for about 2 days.
