Iced Latte With Chocolate Almond Milk is a wonderful treat on a hot summer day. Made with almond milk, this is a perfect way to enjoy your favorite coffee drink dairy-free!

Iced Latte With Chocolate Almond Milk

I like my milk, always have. I eat cereal almost every day for breakfast.  Milk is usually incorporated into the foods I make. Until now.  At least for a while as I figure out allergy issues. Thank goodness for almond milk and being able to make treats like this iced latte with chocolate almond milk. It'll get me by.

Am I lactose intolerant?  No.  However, I am highly allergic to all things, as you have heard me say once or twice. Or three times. {Sorry.}  One thing I am not allergic to is food.  At least, I didn't think so.

I have been doing some research on allergies and asthma and the effects some foods have on those symptoms. About a year ago, a friend of mine told me she isn't letting her mother eat dairy anymore because of the effect it seems to have on her lungs. She would start coughing immediately after eating dairy products.

I didn't think much of it until problem after problem arose with my lungs and allergy symptoms. I started keeping track and noticed after eating dairy products, I would cough and have lung issues. Hmmm....

So after much reluctance, I decided to give dairy free a try.

    1. Yea for Almond Milk

    2. I am already noticing a difference in my lungs

    Interesting.

So yesterday, I found Chocolate Almond Milk at Aldi's. Have I been living under a rock or has chocolate almond milk been out for a while?  Maybe it wasn't in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I found this chocolate almond milk and knew there was a way to incorporate it into some recipes.

How about a coffee recipe? I think yes.

An iced latte is always appreciated, especially in the hot summer months. This iced latte with chocolate almond milk you can enjoy while you are sitting on your deck listening to the birds and reading your morning paper.  Or reading your phone. Of course, reality is you will probably drink it while putting out a couple of arguments over whose turn it is to sweep the floor or do the dishes. But that is okay.  You can imagine you hear the birds.

This latte isn't hard to make and you will be drinking goodness in no time.

This is a lovely recipe! Quick question though: would it be the same result if I used ground coffee instead of coffee granules? Or must it be coffee granules?

It needs to be coffee granules or it won't dissolve correctly. :-)

Oh yes. I KNEW it was the birds I was hearing. Of course. What a delightful drink Sarah. My little special needs guy Hudson can't have dairy either. He's had horrible congestion that has kept him home from school about half the year. Seriously. We dropped dairy from his diet a couple months ago and have seen huge improvement. He drinks almond milk and coconut milk right now. On to me...:) I would love sipping this delicious drink while I'm listening to the tweet tweet tweet. (and I'm not talking twitter.)

It is interesting to hear about your son. I'm glad he is doing better. Gives me hope I will do better as well! I too will continue to listen to for birds. Maybe we will someday. :-)

I made the switch to almond and coconut milk a few years ago. Huge difference in how I feel. Thanks for the recipe I love my lattes!
