Pretzel Toffee Bars has a layer of chocolate on top and rests on a shortbread crust. This is a dessert recipe that is easy and you can make it last minute!

How many on you have had your child come up to you and say, "Mom, I forgot to tell you, but you are supposed to bring a dessert to my event. Sorry about that". Happens to me all the time. However, the good news is the next time that happens, you have an easy dessert recipe you can go to. Pretzel Toffee Bars sound fancy and hard to make, but they are not.
Pretzel Toffee Bars starts with a base crust of shortbread then uses sweetened condensed milk as the toffee layer. The chocolate topping? Simply semi-sweet chocolate chips melted on their own. I don't even need to do anything for it.
Tips
- If you don't like semi-sweet chocolate, use milk chocolate or, dare I say, white chocolate.
- Make sure you have plenty of time to let the chocolate harden.
The base is a simple 4 ingredient shortbread like crust. It is rather dry, to be honest. However, when you put the shortbread crust as the bottom layer then add a toffee filling and chocolate topping with sprinkled pretzels on top, the dry layer is a nice compliment to the creamy and sweet topping.
Perfect together.
