Cherry Tart With Streusel Topping

Easy cherry tart with a simple streusel topping is a great dessert recipe for your family. A delicious pie crust with sweet cherries topped with brown sugar topping.

Equipment

1 tart pan

Ingredients

42 oz cherries 2 cans
1 uncooked pie crust
1 cup flour
½ cup brown sugar
6 tablespoons margarine melted
½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375℉.
Spread pie crust on the bottom and up the sides of lightly greased tart pan. Fold the crust over the top of the tart pan and remove the extra crust. (See the note below.)
Add cherries.
Mix together flour, brown sugar and salt. Pour melted butter over top of the mixture. Mix together and spread evening over the top of the cherries.
Bake at 375* for 30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
Let cool for at least one hour before removing sides of tart pan. Slice and serve.

Notes

You don't have to bake this crust first, however if you want a more firm crust, poke holes in the bottom of the crust with a fork and bake at 375* for 7 minutes before adding cherries.
