Ingredients

lb
ground country sausage
3
tablespoons
all purpose flour
1
teaspoon
salt
2
teaspoon
pepper
2
cup
milk
Instructions
Cook the sausage until no longer pink, drain
Reserve 3 tablespoons of sausage grease
Place the sausage in a bowl and set aside
Add the reserved grease, flour, salt and pepper and stir
Slowly add in the milk, whisking as you go to remove lumps and make the mixture smooth with the heat on medium/high
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and bring gravy to a simmer. Cook for 2 more minutes, stirring, until mixture is thickened
Add cooked sausage then cook for another 2 minutes
Serve over biscuits or toast
