Simple Cherry Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cup flour (I use unbleached)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup margarine (or butter)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 T butter

Instructions

  • Mix together flour, baking soda and powder, sugar
  • Mix in the butter
  • Stir in eggs, sour cream, vanilla and water
  • Mix well
  • Spread 1/2 batter in a greased 9x13 pan
  • Spread on cherry pie filling
  • Drop by spoonfuls on top of cherries and spread
  • Mix together 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour and 2 T butter
  • Sprinkle streusel topping on top of batter
  • Bake for 35 minutes at 375* or until coffee cake tests done
