cherry pie filling

sugar cookie mix
prepackaged

margarine
melted

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°
Line a 9 inch square baking dish with foil (if desired). If not, lightly grease bottom of pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
In a medium mixing bowl, mix together sugar cookie mix, melted butter and egg and stir until well blended.
Press down ¾ of the batter on the bottom of square baking dish. Reserve the other ¼ for the topping.
Pour cherry pie filling on top of cookie dough.
Sprinkle remaining dough over the top of the cherries. It won't cover the entire top.
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until cherry topping is starting to bubble and the cookie dough on top is turning golden brown.
Remove from oven.
Let cool on counter for 30 minutes then place in fridge for up to 2 hours.
Remove from fridge and slice. Serve.
Notes
This recipe uses Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix. If using a different mix, your ingredients may vary. Adjust as needed.
