A delightful cookie bar recipe, enjoy the chocolate and soft cookie base of these M&M Cookie Bars.

Ingredients

cup
margarine
softened
1
egg
¾
cup
white sugar
¾
cup
brown sugar
2 ¼
cup
all purpose flour
I use unbleached but bleached will work
1
teaspoon
baking soda
½
teaspoon
salt
1
cup
chocolate chips
semi sweet or milk chocolate
1
cup
M&M's
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°.
Cover a 9x13 baking pan with foil. Set aside.
Mix the softened butter, sugars and egg in a large bowl.
Stir in the flour, baking soda and salt.
Fold in the chocolate chips and M&M's.
Spread on the bottom of the 9x13 pan.
Bake at 375° degrees for 35-40 minutes or until cookie is set and turns a golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool completely. Remove bars from pan and peel back the foil. Cut into squares.
Serve by itself or with ice cream.
