Apple Cinnamon Sponge Cake
Apple cinnamon sponge cake with sweet apple cinnamon flavors. Top with whipping cream or ice cream. Great fall recipe.

Ingredients

apple
medium, washed
¼
cup
white sugar
2
teaspoon
cinnamon
3
eggs
1
cup
sugar
5
tablespoon
water
1
teaspoon
vanilla
1
cup
flour
1
teaspoon
baking powder
Instructions
Mix eggs, 1 cup sugar, water and vanilla
Mix in the flour and baking powder. Set aside
Mix together cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar in a small bowl. Dip the sliced apples in the cinnamon sugar on both sides
Place the apples in a single layer on the bottom of a greased 8x8 square pan
Pour the batter on top of the apples
Bake at 325* for 30 minutes or until done
Remove from oven and let sit for 7-10 minutes on counter
Use a knife to loosen the edges, then flip the cake over onto a pan
Serve with ice cream or whipping cream
