Last year, I shared how Cora and I enjoyed providing a Valentine’s Day meal in our home for the men in our lives. Now, celebrating Valentine’s Day is a hard fought battle in my house. There are some of us, not to mention names, who feels it doesn’t need to be celebrated. We can show Valentine’s Day spirit everyday of the year. Truth. However, I have yet to see flowers delivered to me everyday of the year. ;-)
Being the girls of the family, Cora and I wanted to show the men in our lives how much we cared. We came up with a menu and planned a special dinner. Cora helped with the decorations and had a great time planning the Valentine’s meal.
We have plans of making another Valentine’s meal this year. We both enjoyed it and I think it is a great way to teach Cora love, service and caring to her dad and brothers. Her brothers like it because they get something yummy to eat. Like spaghetti.
When planning a Valentine’s Day dinner, don’t think you need an expensive meal or decorations. Use what you have at home and let your children do the rest.
To help you with your Valentine’s Day Menu, I made up a Valentine’s Day Printable menu.
When you print it off, you can have your child(ren) fill in the menu. When we had the meal at our house, we posted the menu so all could see it one year. Another year, we gave the dinner guests a choice: applesauce/salad. They had to circle which one they wanted on their menu. Be creative and have fun!
