The old favorite of a S’more combined with the delicious taste of a brownie. All made in the comfort of your own kitchen.
I enjoy S’mores. A lot. I don’t know if it because it is kind of like a cookie. Or cookie-like anyway. The S’more has the chocolatey goodness of a Hershey bar mixed with the campfire flavored marshmallows and completed with the crunch of a graham cracker.
Apparently, I have given the S’more way too much thought. Hmm…
So when coming up with a new dessert a couple of weeks ago, I thought maybe, just maybe I could incorporate the flavors of S’mores with some gooey, chocolatey yumminess that I bake in the oven.
How about a brownie? Oh, my, a S’mores Brownie.
It sounds rather delightful, doesn’t it? It was. It really, really was. In fact, it even got a mention in my 30 confessions of a mom post. I can’t possibly be the only one who would eat the rest of this delicious dessert behind their children’s backs, right?
Maybe you shouldn’t answer that.
The S’mores Brownie is simple, made with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. As I believe recipes don’t have to be complicated, this one is not. A little bit of time, a box mix and a oven will make this S’mores Brownie in no time.
Simply take a box brownie mix and make the brownies according to package directions. Before you bake the brownies, sprinkle crushed graham crackers on top. You then bake the brownie according to package directions.
Then the fun begins. Broil, broil, broil. It can be highly entertaining to watch the marshmallows turn from white to golden brown. After you bake the brownie, place marshmallows side by side on top on brownie and place under broiler until they turn golden brown.
Once you taste the S’mores Brownie with the combination of chocolate brownie and marshmallow gooey goodness, you will be hooked. When you take this to the upcoming family reunion, your family members will thank you. Especially if you bring wet wipes. ;-)
