A slow cooker guide for those wanting to take the plunge and buy and slow cooker. (Or even replace the ones they have!)
I am a slow cooker savvy girl. I have them. I use them. I use the slow cookers often. By often, I mean 3-4 times a week. I honestly think a slow cooker is a girl’s best friend. Forget the diamond, men, buy your lady a slow cooker. (Okay, you may want to make sure she is a fan of the kitchen first or you may get something thrown at you.) A slow cooker guide would be helpful for those deciding to purchase one for themselves or others. I’ve got you covered. ;-)
I have told the story before, but before we even had children, my wonderful hubby decided to buy me a bread machine for Christmas. Yes, my initial reaction was more of displeasure (though I hid it from him!) than joy. After all, all he was saying was, “Here Honey. Make me some bread.”
It turned out to be my most used and appreciated Christmas gift ever. Really. It has now broke and I am asking my husband for, you guessed it, another bread machine. Don’t knock kitchen Christmas gifts. For a mom and wife who works in the kitchen, making their job easier is appreciated! My husband just gave me another slow cooker for Christmas a couple of years ago. He knows me well. :-)

Do you know anyone who doesn’t have a slow cooker or it is older and on it’s last temperature? I have encountered readers here on Baking With Mom that do not have a slow cooker. If you don’t have one, don’t fear. I have a helpful slow cooker guide to buying the right slow cooker for your family. May I just say, you need to get one. I make so many of our favorite dishes in a slow cooker.
Nowadays, there are many, many different types of slow cookers.
Let’s start small with your slow cooker guide:
I have a two crock slow cooker and use it for green beans and corn. Or I will use it for two dips. Great for entertaining!
This slow cooker programs. Love it. Set the time on it and forget it. Oh, and it has a locking lid. Can you say potluck?
Oh, the simple one. Gotta love simplicity. Click the slow cooker on low, medium or high and you have a cooked Hamburger Soup in no time. Well, about 6 hours, but at least you don’t have to do anything but sit back and stir it once in a while.
That is a short guide to slow cookers. If you don’t have one, I urge you to get one. You can make these great meals in just a few minutes of your time.
