Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
What kind of clothes do YOU wear? I don’t mean the clothes that cover your body. I mean the clothes you wear on the inside. Strength and dignity talks about the character of the Proverbs 31 woman. She has wisdom and isn’t worried for the future because her family is taken care of.
Worry, worry, worry. That is a hard thing not to do when you have a family, isn’t it? I mean, from the new baby coming home from the hospital (having a new life in your care!) to the toddler taking the first steps across the room, there are plenty of reasons for a mom to worry. (And that is just the first year let alone the challenges to come!) God doesn’t want us to worry. We are not to be anxious for anything. The Proverbs 31 woman knows that and relies on God for all things. Her family is well taken care of and cared for. She has prepared for the future. Now, not worrying about tomorrow is different than worrying that your toddler is going to let go of your hand and dart in front of cars. We are to take care and caution. However, we are not to let worry consume us.
Matthew 6:34-Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
That is a memory verse of mine. Sometimes I think God put that in the Bible just for me. I quote it often! Remember God has your future. He knows it and nothing happens outside of His plan for you. Why worry? Trust in God. Memorize Matthew 6:34 and refer to it. Let God be in control.
