Did you notice my absence last week? I’m sorry but I had an Ocean Commotion to tend to.
Ocean Commotion, you ask?
My son Ryan and a friend acting in the skit. Ryan is the shark. What until I show you my amazing sewing skills. 😉
Our theme this year was Ocean Commotion; it is centered on Noah’s Ark and the flood. I was in charge of crafts, which I have been for over 10 years now. As a former preschool teacher, I can appreciate how easy ocean crafts are for ideas.
I found this paper bag jelly fish which was so cute, inexpensive and easy! We also made these fish with the cupcake liners. I had always used tissue paper before but what a cute idea using the cupcake liners.
If you have a chance, be sure to volunteer for your church’s VBS or if you don’t go to a church with a VBS, get your children involved with one. All of our kids love it or in Ryan’s case, love helping with it.
Who knows, it could even inspire you to dust off (literally, in my case!) your sewing machine and create something from two gray pillowcases, some felt and some wire. Who knew I was so talented!?! 😉
