It is totally soup weather.
I could probably eat soup 4 days a week. Maybe even more. It is frugal, it is warm on a cold day and I throw it into a crock pot and walk away. So good. With the leaves falling (and us being outside to rake and rake and rake all those leaves) we need something warm when we get inside. You’ll probably be seeing a lot of soup recipes on the blog now through the winter. I’m trying to get my meatatarian husband to try split pea soup. What do you think the odds are? Yeah, I know. ;-)
Here is what is on the menu this week.
Cereal, toast, oatmeal, blueberry muffins
Macaroni and Cheese, leftovers, granola bars, apples (got them at $.68 a pound!), mini pizzas, PB&J’s, grapes, bananas
Chicken Tortellini Soup (I bought some new noodles at Aldi for 1/2 the cost of regular. I can’t wait to try them out–I’ll let you know!), homemade rolls, crock pot apples
Pizza Bake, green beans, fruit salad
Waffles, apple strudel coffee cake, eggs, blueberries
Crock pot lasagna, oatmeal bread, steamed veggies
Out to eat with family
Chicken quesadillas (with peppers and cheese), canned peaches, carrots
