Made with a brownie mix, these cookies are soft and chewy, delicious and of course, chocolate-y! Made with only a handful of ingredients.

    Gooey butter Brownies

These.Are.Delightful. These Gooey Butter Brownies are some of the best cookies/brownies I have had in a long time.  I know, I know, I made them so of course I think they are wonderful.

No, my friends, they really, really are.  They are rich and soft and they are made with cream cheese.

    Yeah, really.

Are these really made from a brownie mix?

Yes, they are. A brownie mix, some cream cheese, butter it has all the ingredients of easy and yummy.  I won't substitute the brownie mix for a cake mix. You can, of course and you would get a cookie like these gooey butter cookies.

With these cookies however, the thickness and richness needs to come from the brownie mix.

How to make gooey butter brownies

Gooey butter brownies start with butter and cream cheese mixed together in a medium bowl. Then you add the brownie mix, egg and milk and mix well.

After putting them on cookie sheets, bake. You don't have to dust them with powdered sugar, but I recommend it. It adds a certain flavor and, quite honestly, they look great.  I was also thinking how a scoop of ice cream and a drizzle of caramel would really set them apart.

Got you thinking that too, haven't I? ;-)

I'd rather not use a box mix of anything. Could you list the exact raw ingredients as an alternative? Thanks
