Cora and I had so much fun on Friday. We cooked, decorated and baked for the men in our lives. My husband had to leave for a while so the boys had to hide out in the basement by themselves. (The hubby would be home for supper.)
First we decorated the dining room in an array of beautiful hearts. Cora came up with the idea of stringing the hearts up from wall to buffet.
She took decorating the table and room very seriously. Caleb wanted to help and tried to climb the chair like his sister. Thankfully, didn’t reach the top. Soon, though.
The heart cookies didn’t work out. I had a pretty busy day and those cookies are time consuming. So we decided to make heart brownies instead. We made the brownies in a pan, cut them out with heart cookie cutters and Cora decorated them with frosting and sprinkles.
The meal turned out great. We waited on our men. If they wanted water, we got water. If they wanted more spaghetti, we served spaghetti. We gave them the gift of service. It didn’t cost anything more than a normal meal would. We just used our time to show we care.
Did you do something special for the people in your life this Valentine’s Day? I would love to hear about it if you did.
