Loaded Cheesy Bacon French Fries is a restaurant favorite made at home.
Do you enjoy eating loaded cheesy bacon french fries at a restaurant? We do. It is usually in the appetizer section of the menu. The problem, of course, is ordering the fries for an appetizer but then getting french fries with your meal.
French fry overload, I guess.
I wanted to try to make loaded cheesy bacon french fries at home. I mean, surely I could make the same dish with a less cost than the $7-8 it costs to order them at a restaurant!
I found Checkers French Fries at the store. I had never seen them before, though I am sure they have been available. They are thin fries with fabulous seasoning on them. I’m glad I got them, because they added a great flavor to the loaded fries. If you don’t have Checkers fries at your store, you can any brand of fries.
The beauty of the loaded fries was being able to add as many or as little toppings as you wanted. I added shredded cheese, bacon, green onion and sour cream to our fries. I also think white onion or melted cheese would work as well.
The picture makes me want to make this again tonight. Yum.
Some ideas for you
I think these fries would be great to make for company or for News Year Eve. I also wonder if you could make these on the grill. Oh yeah, grill flavoring with the bacon, onion and cheese… I do believe I need to try that. If someone tries it, let me know!!
- I bag of frozen french fries (or what serving size your family needs)
- 1 cup cheese (or more if you prefer!)
- chopped green onion
- 4 strips chopped cooked bacon
- sour cream
- Cook french fries according to package directions
- Place french fries on a plate
- According to your personal taste, add cooked and crumbled bacon, cheese, bacon and sour cream on top of french fries
- Serve immediately
