I know I post a lot of desserts and treats on this site. (I promise, more healthy posts are on the way!) My husband and I believe in moderation. It’s okay to have a dessert or treat but we balance it with fruits, veggies, 100% juice and more. One way we keep a balance is staying active. We are a very active family. My husband runs long distances and is a bike rider. (He loves to get up early on Saturdays and go for 30-50 miles. Doesn’t happen often, with four little ones around the house, but it will occur sometimes.) I like to run on the treadmill and on walks with the children. Our children are always riding their bikes. We often go somewhere as a family that is activity centered.
I wanted to encourage all of you to stay moving and healthy. I believe teaching children the joy of baking, working in the kitchen and learning about food goes hand in hand with healthy bodies and minds. So, at Baking With Mom, we are starting the series: Fit Friday.
In Fit Friday, we will talk about different ways to stay active as a family. I hope I will have some new ideas for you and encourage you along the way. Watch for the series posts on Fridays.
